DISTRIBUTION:

Lobobunaea erythrotes (wingspan: males: mm; females: mm) flies in
Cameroon; and D.R. Congo.

This moth was elevated from a subspecies and given full species status by T. Bouyer, 2012.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

Lobobunaea erythrotes moths are on the wing in ?? There are probably additional flight months.

Larval hosts are unknown.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

Lobobunaea erythrotes females attract males with an airbourne pheromone.

The genus name Lobobunaea, is from the Greek and refers to a lobed hill-dweller. The genus specimen type is Lobobunaea phaedusa, males of which have a valve with a subapical lobe. The hindwings are also lobed at the anal angle. It may also be a montane species.
