DISTRIBUTION:

Orthogonioptilum bouyeri (wingspan: males: 57-63mm; females: 82mm) inhabits
Togo: Forest of Dametui, Kpalime, Forest of Missahoe; and is probably also from the
Ivory Coast: northeast of Man and
Ghana.

Darge probably named this species to honour Thierry Bouyer.

It is usually taken at altitudes between 800 and 900m.

The forewings are quite falcate and the transverse line is vestigial. The forewing pm line is thin but clear, more so than the am line. On each wing there are two "points of light" one larger, one smaller.

It is hoped that this alphabetical listing followed by the common name of the foodplant will prove useful. The list is not exhaustive. Experimenting with closely related foodplants is worthwhile.

The pronunciation of scientific names is troublesome for many. The "suggestion" at the top of the page is merely a suggestion.

There are many collectors from different countries whose intonations and accents would be different.

The genus name Orthogonioptilum refers to the nearly right angle at the anal angle of the forewing.

The species name is honourific for Thierry Bouyer.
