DISTRIBUTION:
Orthogonioptilum diabolicum
(wingspan: males: 68mm; females: larger) flies in
Gabon: Estuaire: Libreville, and
Ogooue-Lolo: Lastoursville, and probably in Moyen-Ogooue
and Ogooue-Ivindo.
The forewing is very falcate and the apex is rather pointed. The
general ground colour is rosy-yellow with bright rosy areas.
The pm line is fine and a brownish red while the am line is vestigial.
There are two small spots, circled in brown in each wing cell.
The forewing anal angle is quite obtuse.
FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:
This moth
possibly flies
in April-May. Records exist for an October-December flight.
Orthogonioptilum diabolicum larval hosts are unknown.
