DISTRIBUTION:

Orthogonioptilum filippii (wingspan: males: 45-47mm; females: 60mm) flies in
Gabon: Ogooue-Ivindo, Ogooue-Lolo, Ngounie.

Philippe Darge reports it in Gabon in Makokou, Ivindo, Massif du Chaillu, Mimongo, and indicates it is most prevalent around Chaillu and Makokou where it flies with O. modestum.

Ground colour of body and wings is quite dark brown. The large areas of grey scaling help to distinguish this species.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

This moth flies in March-May and possibly again in the fall.

Orthogonioptilum filippii larval hosts are unknown.
