DISTRIBUTION:

Orthogonioptilum sejunctum (wingspan: males: 51-65mm; females: larger) flies in the Adamaoua plateau, Cameroon: Mbitom and Goyoum.

The forewing is less falcate than that of O. prox, the anal angle is rounded and the outer margin is a little straighter than in O prox. The ground colour is a bright yellowish-brown with a distinct darker, redder area above the faint transverse line between the am and pm lines. On each wing there is one well marked "point of light" below two or three miniscule points.

The ventral surface is a uniform bright yellowish-brown, lighter near the apex where the transverse line is better marked.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

This moth flies in March-April and again in October. There may be another brood between the two cited.

Orthogonioptilum sejunctum larval hosts are unknown.

It is hoped that this alphabetical listing followed by the common name of the foodplant will prove useful. The list is not exhaustive. Experimenting with closely related foodplants is worthwhile.

The pronunciation of scientific names is troublesome for many. The "suggestion" at the top of the page is merely a suggestion.

There are many collectors from different countries whose intonations and accents would be different.

The genus name Orthogonioptilum refers to the nearly right angle at the anal angle of the forewing.

The species name "sejunctum" probably refers to the darker, redder area 'separated' from the rest of the forewing by the lines.
