DISTRIBUTION:

Orthogonioptilum violascens (wingspan: males: 59-63mm; females: larger) flies in
Tanzania,
Ivory Coast,
Cameroon,
Gabon,
Congo Brazzaville: Ouesso,
Kenya,
Uganda,
Malawi,
and the Democratic Republic of the Congo,
and probably in Rwanda and Burundi.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

This moth flies in January, and possibly again in the summer and fall.

Orthogonioptilum violascens larval hosts are unknown.
