DISTRIBUTION:
Saturnia (Rinaca) winbrechlini
(forewing length: ) flies in the province of Shaanxi,
China,
in the Tai-bai-shan Mts. (S), and Tsinling-Mts., Houzhenzi, 33,35°N /
107,43°E, 1600 m. Victor Sinyaev
also reports it in Sichuan Province.
The species name is to honour
the father of the author, Dr. Winfried Brechlin, Germany.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:
This species probably flies in the fall (September-October).
ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:
Females extend a scent gland from the tip of their abdomens to "call" the males.
Males use their antennae to hone in on the airbourne pheromone.
