TAXONOMY:
Family: Sphingidae, Latreille, 1802 |
MIDI MUSICcopyright C. Odenkirk ON.OFF |
The forewing is very similar to that of Pachygonidia subhamata, but the apex is pointed
(not sinuate between Rs3 and Rs4, i.e. not dentate at the end of Rs4). The outer margin is slightly angulate at the bottom of the hollowed
out region below the apex, not as rounded (convex) as in subhamata or mielkei.
Hindwing upperside has two median transverse pinkish-buff bands, similar to the patterns of Pachygonidia mielkei and Pachygonidia subhamata.
