I asked Robert for some information regarding sightings of Saturniidae in Honduras and Robert was kind enough to write back:
"The museum is a one person operation for educational and tourism purposes. I am a retired teacher that collected insects in Honduras for over 30 years. A small collection is in Ohio at my brotherīs place and the second collection of moths and butterflies of Honduras (4300 spread and 4000 in envelopes) is in the Smithsonian which I donated to them in 1987. About 14 years ago I started all over.
Do you have access to the Journal of the LepidopteristsīSociety Vol 25, No. 2, 19 May 1971 pp. 150 - 152? If not I will send you a reprint of the article "Some Sphingidae of Honduras" which I did when I was a grad student at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. The 34 species were identified by Mr. william E. Sieker."
Robert has sent some images which I will be posting and has sent distribution and flight season data which is very helpful and will also be posted shortly. I am helping with some of the identifications.
Robert reports he has specimens of Rothschildia lebeau aroma from the depertments of Atlantida: La Ceiba (RL), Yoro: El Merendon (RL) and Santa Barbara: San Jose de Los Andes (RL) from elevations of 250-1600m.
